My big debut was a special day, my birthday, October 16, 2024. I was born in Oklahoma.
Let me introduce myself. I am a miniature schnauzer. I am a small fellow, a little guy, with a big personality. My fur is black and white, a parti color, and I appear as if I am wearing a mask.
After my birthday, I grew bigger and eventually reached three pounds, and was ready to leave my mother's care. Big plans were on the horizon.
I left Oklahoma and moved to Texas with a new family. They named me Pistol
Pete and call me Petey. The name suits my personality, and I have the appearance of a bandit.
My days are filled with joy as I eagerly learn new tricks and proper behavior. I have a variety of toys to play with, and I have mastered sitting, standing, rolling over, shaking hands, giving a high-five, and responding when my name is called.
I even became a pro at fetching a ball with my family, but I do enjoy it when I am chased, and I try to keep the ball. I also enjoy doggy snacks and going to the park.
My big challenge when I arrived with my new family was to learn
about the feline species. I gained a feline sister. Her name is Bunny. Every day, I know more.
She is bigger than me and much older. Our relationship is a journey of learning patience and tolerance to accept one's differences. She seems to set the rules.
We do have similarities. She also has black and white fur like me. She looks as if she is wearing a tuxedo. She is more elite than I am. I am more down-to-earth and prefer being casual, but I, too, can get fancied up if the occasion is right.
Our journey of getting to know each other was a slow but steady one. We took small steps, one day at a time, to understand and respect each other's boundaries. It is a journey that teaches me the value of patience, and I continue to learn each day.
At first, Bunny was hesitant to be near me and showed a slight dislike, but over time, she became my friend and no longer minded me entering her space.
I had to learn Bunny's language of hissing and batting my head with her paw when she wanted to be left alone. She is still learning to understand my language, but she may not be interested in a young pup like me, as I am of her.
My life in Texas is good. I get three meals a day, a soft bed to sleep on, and plenty of
cuddles and walks. The
adventures that lie ahead will be exciting to ponder. I'm loving every moment of it, and I can not wait to see what the future holds and to tell you about it.
Each
day, I grow bigger and wiser. I have reached ten pounds. I am healthy and very energetic, and I have learned to express myself well. Quieting my bark is a challenging and disciplined skill to learn and control.
I enjoy playing in my
yard with my green ball. Running up and down the fence line, trying to get the neighbor dogs to play.
I dream about what lies ahead in my days to come. The future is full of possibilities, and I can not wait to see what adventures await me.
Please keep in touch as I face the adventures and challenges in this big new world. I might be small, but I have a big personality. Stay tuned.
